Government Street Christian School maintains a staffed sports program for our students competing in

volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, archery, track, soccer and cheerleading with other Christian schools in the area. The purpose of the athletic program is:

  1. To instill Christian character.
  2. To develop the Christian philosophy of the true winner’s creed based on Colossians 3:23.
  1. To develop self-confidence.
  2. To increase and build proper school spirit.
  3. To teach the basic fundamentals in each sport to prepare the student for participating at the next level.
Only eligible students may participate in interscholastic athletics. Grades will be checked every week. Students must maintain

a “C” average with no failing grades. Should an athlete fall below a “C” average, the student will be put on probation for a period of 1 week.  After 1 week the student’s academic eligibility will be re-evaluated.  A $75 Athletic Fee is charged for each sport.  The Athletic Fee must be paid in full prior to the first game or match.

For the 2019/20 term, GSCS will be offering elementary flag football (Fall) and intramural sports throughout the year including Archery (4th and 5th grade) in the Spring.  For the Upper School GSCS offers Fall and Spring sports including Boys and Girls Basketball, Archery, Track and Field, and Baseball.
